Forbes Presbyterian Church is a worshipping community that affirms God’s Word, the Bible, as supreme and the standard for our theology, doctrine and life.
We meet to worship the Lord on Sunday morning, beginning at 10:30 AM. Our time together each Sunday morning is a celebration of God’s goodness and an invitation to let His creative and healing work continue in each of our lives. We sing worshipful songs, both the great hymns of the faith and contemporary Christian songs. Sometimes, we observe children’s time to prepare the children before they leave for Sunday School and to prepare our minds and hearts before we listen to God’s Word.
The prayer of the people gives us the opportunity to reflect on the sermon, ask for grace and strength to live as the Lord desires us, and care for one another and the world by laying everything into God’s sovereign care. We observe a time to offer our tithes and offerings to the Lord; we see this time as an invitation and opportunity to partner with God by establishing and firming God’s kingdom and will on earth as it is in heaven. Also, we remember the life and salvific act of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, every third Sunday of the month when we observe the celebration of the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion).
